The character has become so popular that my laundry bills now come in Mr. Bhide's name, it is the effect of the character that I play. I get so many calls from people asking me if there is a place in Gokuldham society and please let us know since you are the secretary despite knowing that everything is fictional. The involvement from the audience side. Now, the biggest struggle for me is to break the image of Mr. Bhide and bring Mandar Chandwadkar ahead. Today, the situation is such that if anyone asks about my address by my real name no one knows but the moment anyone asks do you know where Bhide stays they will immediately tell. I want to bring Mandar to Mr. Bhide's level," said he.Mandar also opened up about the crazy fan moments that he has seen in the last 12 years, "There are many fan moments like I met a few surgeons recently and they told me that they perform three to four surgeries in a day and between two surgeries they watch Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah to relax their mind. So, I consider it as a big compliment that they watch our show to be at mental peace. Then there was a fan who had posted a picture of his father watching our show after surgery. He narrated how his father's pre and post journey became smooth only because he was watching our show. His father's health was improving day by day watching Taarak and he thanked the entire team. It was a very heart touching moment for us. Then I was invited as a chief guest at a society in Mumbai and they had three wings in their society, they told me they started celebrating festivals together after watching Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, all these things give us huge pride," said he.
